My manager wants to push out someone in my group and asks me to?
I cant write a long story in the question. So here is the rest of the story. The person being pushed out is technically very good. He does not always listen to my boss. That is partly his problem. But he has done a lot for the company and helped me in the past. I am not looking at this as a golden opportunity to get a raise or promotion. My manager is good at manipulating people. He told me that that engineer was ok to step aside, but from what I have observed, that is not the case. Otherwise, there should be tension between us. I really want to clarify it with that engineer. If he is ok to move out, I will step in. I am worried that this is part of the process to get him out. I do not want to be part of it. It is immoral to me.
