C) Imagine you are a manager, what would you do to help develop and?

I believe it is every leaders responsibility to help develop the people they lead. However, this doesnt mean simply stuffing them with training that is seen as specific to their job, as this is seen as work only. For training to be considered by the employee to be a reward, it should have personal benefits and help them in their life and future career, even if not with your business. It should also be interesting, even fun! Naturally, you will want to be benefiting from the training and knowledge also. The one skill set that fits all the above parameters is Soft Skills. The employee will learn how to interact with people in all circumstances, family, social and work, and therefore will see the knowledge you are providing as wide ranging and life developing. There will be many instances outside of work that will give opportunity for her to be thankful for the knowledge you are providing. Additionally, the extra skills she will bring to the work place will have outstanding, positive impact on her job success, and those she interacts with. A win-win situation!
