I am a .NET developer and joined in a company as a .NET developer,?
Youve got two approaches to this. You can go to your supervisor and tell them, I dont have a background writing in C and feel I cant complete this task without serious training. Or, you can go to your supervisor and tell them, I dont have experience writing C but Ill learn on the job if youd like me to give it a shot. Now, put yourself in your supervisors position, which would you want to hear? If you are a developer, you had better be ready to learn for the rest of your career. If you arent ready to go out and do a little on the job learning then maybe you should choose a different career that doesnt require as much dynamic growth. That is part of the job and you wouldnt be the first developer that had to pick up someone elses code and learn the language all at the same time. As long as your supervisor knows the score (you are learning on the job) and you havent mis represented your skills, then offering to take up the job is the best approach in my opinion. Either way, youve put the responsibility for the decision on your boss which is exactly where it should be. Good luck
