Has anyone had IBS-C and managed to overcome it?
I have it, but I am not sure what you mean by overcome it. I have learned how to manage it by years of food logging and figuring out what I can and should not eat. After a horrible and almost instantaneous reaction to a wheatgrass shot almost 15 years ago, before the gluten-free fad, we realized I was gluten sensitive (not intolerant, because I can tolerate it but it will be uncomfortable). And I've come to see I am also sensitive to dairy products. With IBS, many times there is no way to overcome, or cure it. I had a bad intestinal infection as a young child, and it lead to this chronic condition. I look at it like I look at my asthma. They said I would grow out of it, but I didn't. And that's okay, because I know how to manage it now, and most symptoms do not present themselves anymore. It is not something that will kill me, so why obsess over it and let it run my life? I eat healthy, stay active, and live normally, and you can, too.
